Our Story

In 1999, Dallas entrepreneurs Kelly Wiley and Alonzo Harris founded 2000 Roses, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, aimed at assisting women re-entering society after incarceration. This initiative particularly focuses on women whose lives have been impacted by substance abuse and domestic violence.

As accomplished business professionals, Kelly and Alonzo have firsthand experience with the criminal justice system, giving them a profound understanding of the obstacles that inmates face when transitioning back to society.

They actively work at both local and national levels to re-educate the public, providing a fresh perspective on the value and worth of incarcerated individuals. Through the 2000 Roses Foundation, they offer transitional living centers, safe havens, and essential resources including information, education, and job opportunities for formerly incarcerated women. Kelly and Alonzo are aware that women of all ages often face victimization, and that family dysfunction, patriarchy, addiction, and the prison system can lead to devastating consequences.

To date, approximately 1,300 women have benefited from the emergency transitional living center, a two-story, nine-bedroom, five-bathroom home where life and job skills training are integral to the first full year of the program.
